is it possible to get closed captions on directv

is it possible to get closed captions on directv receiver d10? i was recently watching a show and it had the speech bubble logo displayed and i tried CC1-4 but it wouldnt display any captions, so my guess is either directv doesnt support captions or maybe they forgot to include a caption decoder in my tv

currently the only receivers that have closed captioning are the Samsung SIR-TS360,
HNS HTL-HD and Sony SAT-HD-200.

That's actually incorrect. It must be your TV. I get captions using CC1 on my TVs using a D10 and an RCA DVR80

yeah, closed captions are in the tv. but the only receivers that have the cc built into the reciever themselves are the Samsung SIR-TS360,
HNS HTL-HD and Sony SAT-HD-200.

I've owned several models of D* receivers and all of them had a CC option. The following commands will turn on CC for the D* H10. Since the remotes are similar, it might work for the D10.

1) Menu button
2) Settings
3) Setup
4) Display
5) Arrow Up, then Right to the Captioning tab, then Select
6) Toggle Display from "Off" to "On"

I just checked... I get CC on my D10
