Today while I was watching the Cubs game on wgn 239 on my #2 tv it changed to a different channel three times. No one in the house was changing channels on the # 1 set. Could this be a neighbors remote doing this, and why just one tv is affected?

Can something be done to correct this?--Thanks
Yes, it's probably a neighbor with their UHF remote using the same address. It's just the one TV because only the one TV tuner uses the UHF remote.

Here are instructions from the DISH web site:
These steps should be used to change the remote control's address in the event of a conflict between two like satellite receivers. These programming steps are for remote controls that have four mode buttons at the top of the remote.

Programming Steps

Step 1 of 2
Access the System Information screen.

Access to the System Information screen without the remote varies amongst the different models. The three methods are outlined below:

1. If available, press the SYSTEM INFORMATION button on the front panel of the satellite receiver.
2. If the SYSTEM INFORMATION button is not present, remove the SmartCard located behind the door of the front panel.
3. If there is no SmartCard or SYSTEM INFORMATION button, power the receiver off from the front panel and then press the up or down arrow button.

Make note of the number in the remote address field.

Step 2 of 2
Hold down the SAT button until all mode buttons light up. Enter a number between 1 and 15 other than the number noted in the above step. Press the pound (#) button. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.

Exit the System Information screen with the remote control to test functionality.

I'm confused, you said no one else (but the cat) is in the house, then said your wife 'ordered' a replacement unit. Thankfully you said there are no timers whatsoever, so that eliminates that road, but we only can go by what you say.

I'm LMAO. I was trying to bring some humor into this, and actually help.

Come on people keep to the subject at hand.
You said there's no timers. You can't have recordings without timers. Well, I guess you can.... I don't think timers for "Once" events stay in the list. But, you say you're getting the same show recorded every week. Something's not making sense. Sorry....

Start over, with facts, not speculation.

Press the "DVR" button on your remote (3) times. Press the down arrow (2) times, then SELECT. What's there ?

Maybe the cat is responsible? Do these recorded shows have "cat themes" or are "cat friendly"? My son always swears that he's not recording shows on Skinamax, but he's the only one that uses his DVR. He blames it on our cat. Believe me, that cat is smart too, but probably not that interested in soft porn. Hope this helps.:D

Also, have you considered sitting the cat down for a lie detector test? You can't lie your way thru one of those! Maybe even installing a nanny cam would be a good idea. You could catch him in the act then.

Great! I'm here to help anyone who will take it - whether you live alone with a cat or not...

Happens occasionally. I have family over and the next thing I know, my DVR is recording "The Three stooges". Almost hate to cancel that one. Sometimes they hit a few wrong buttons, and voila...and new recording timer.

I have 4 cats and the other day when I came home all 4 were sitting on the couch in the TV room, with the Dish remote next to them. The TV was on Animal Planet and there was a faint smell of Catnip in the air...Since that day I lock up my Dish remote whenever I leave.
I would check your remote for paw prints.
