If I have a transfer going on...does the receiver have to be on ???...Can the green light not be on the front of the hopper for the transfer to still work???

Hopper will complete EHD transfer when it is in standby mode (green light off).

I thought I read somewhere you can access your ehd recordings through dish anywhere...is that possible and if so how ???...I was just trying to access it on my phone and could not find it

No EHD with Dishanywhere.

You can with a 722 but not a Hopper...

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but in case you don't know, you do not have to transfer the recoding that is on the EHD to the Hopper to view it. You can play the recording directly from the EHD.
