I had not used my SC DSR-505 in several weeks as I redoing my input switches - and attempted it for the first time in several weeks last night.

It was never lost power (or signal) that I am aware of.

I am running it via YPbPr to the HDTV.

For whatever reason, the 16:9 HD Material is now compressed to 4:3 (think of Iceberg weighing 100lbs).

I have gone to setup and made sure its on 16:9. I have changed to 4:3 saved, exited, and then gone back and changed to 16:9 - its still compressed 4:3.

I have unplugged the unit and let it sit- then plugged it back in. Still no go.

Is there something I am missing here? Something outside of setup (or maybe a secret button on the remote that will switch to 4:3)?

there is a button on the front of the receiver set it to auto or native

So, I had pressed every button on the front panel.

First one is the power

Second one is go back

Third brings up the Program guide

The you have the 4 directional arrows

Last brings up the info banner for what is on the channel.

So I am about to type in what button...that's what I have and that's what I have pressed - so I give it a once over and think...hmmm...whats behind this big SC panel on the right and its a small red button that looks like a reset. I say, wtf, I've tried everything else...so its clearly not working now....press.

OMFG, it worked

WTF stupid design that is....and why is that there.

That's 5 hours of my life I'll never get back

But thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
