I know when I'm using my 3g on my T-mobile phone it's pretty good, the only problem is having a constant 3g signal instead of edge. I think I'm right on the border of the 3G signal.

My area also has T-Mobile's "4G" network but I don't think my phone supports it. :(

Don't worry too much your theoretical limit is 7.2meg down with non-HSPA+ phones.

From what I have seen AT&T is calling their HSPA+ network 4G. They took the same approach as T-Mobile as calling this 4G. If the HSPA+ network is going to be the first attempt at 4G by AT&T, the iPhone already supports it.

Nope iPhone doesn't have a HSPA+ radio in it. Hard capped to 7.2

Listening to Leo Leporte this past weekend while he was at CES, he mentioned the fact that 4g is not the "future" technology. He mentioned something about advanced 3g technology that some technicians are working on that is far superior to current 3g and 4g. Basically, expanding and improving the 3rd generation vs the 4th. The guy he was talking to said that they can do much more with with improving 3g than the current 4g, including increasing the frequency band, improving error correction, and increasing data processing rates to far outperform 4g standards

Leo always seems to know what he's talking about.

It will be interesting to follow this enhanced 3G vs 4G bit. At least speeds are on the agenda.

So I get something from VZ in the mail yesterday. Add a smartphone, and they waive the 9.99/month fee for an additional line for 2yrs. Great! $240 savings.
I read done further. Expires on 1/30. I guess they're trying to push Androids before the iphone hits.

I didn't see that ad so I guess I'm not eligible. I suppose you still have to pay the phone cost. Still a great deal if you can get an Android phone for cheap.

My next Verizon purchase will be the new Nortel LTE Mifi. I love my 5Spot so much I want one that is LTE so we can watch HD sling box on our ipads.

Nortel LTE Mifi? Maybe you mean Novatel I don't think you will see the old Nortel name on any products anymore.

Yes. Sad they threw away a brand name known world wide. Who ever heard of Avaya?

I may give the VZW iPhone a snif but will likely wait for the next generation

The one piece that I would like answered on the Verizon iPhone is the timing of the releases in the future. Did AT&T keep exclusivity for the newly released iPhones? Will they have releases in June-July and Verizon release in January, or will they both get the new versions at the same time?
