Once again, Thank you Scott and Thank you Satguys!

Does anyoone know how ITVN is going to handle multiple receivers in a single household.
With ITVN offering more and better features they need to come up with something for those who may want 3 or 4 receivers..

I'm very interested in the technology and content delivery....however, I'll wait until I see the channels linup; I'm not interested in any of the programming at present:

Starz/Encore - great, but it's only an $11.95 addition to my Dish Network account...and I get StarzHD.
Entertainment Plus - great! But what are the LiveTV channels? Silver Screen? Can you tell us a little more about the classic movie library? (Pulse and ITVN Radio sound like all the music TV and Sirius radio channels I never watch nor listn to as part of my DishHD subscription. I would prefer to receive credit for not having these channels or have a lower monthly bill. The part I like about ITVN is the hope of paying for content you actually want. In the future, you should make these four seperate packages? Besides the porn, I think one of your biggest advantages is your ability to provide a la carte options or programming groups (like they do in Canada).
ITVN Karaoke: cool, but certainly not for me.
ITVN Sports: could be killer, but I'm just not that interested in the Setanta or LacrosseTV packages.
Late Night: killer ap, but I no longer watch late night entertainment.

Anyway, I'm very glad to see ITVN making a move into mainstream home entertainment. I'll be cheering for you guys but---other than having a cool new toy---I don't see anything about the service that grabs my attention, at present.

The silver screen cinema offers several channels broken up in Genre (Action, comedy, cartoons, TV, etc.). These channels play titles (from their library) 24 hours a day from the very early days of motion pictures, cartoons and movies (all pre-1965). From what I have seen so far, these channels are made up of Public Domain content but there is some great TV and Movies on these channels.
All the titles are also available on a ON-DEMAND basis so you can access thousands of titles anytime you want as well.

I have not failed yet to find something on which I like. I have even found myself watching some of the old classic cartoons with the kids. My kids use to love Bommerang but recently have become attached to ITVN's cartoon library.

Same here; I had it, but for what is being added it still needs to be much cheaper per month.

Thank you :) I agree with everything you just said here. I do think though that you get starz and encore which you dont get encore with dish. I may be wrong though. I do think that ITVN has a great oppertunity to add more to their live streams. There are plently of streams online that im sure would love to make a deal with itvn. I dont mind having the dummed down content as long as im not paying extra or as long as i dont have to hook my laptop to my tv every time i want to watch somthing. I am not a cable subscriber simply because i think you pay for alot of channels you NEVER watch. Soo i think ITVN could be my source of entertainment intead of cable. Other then that KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!:)

Yup - not too many channels available just yet ... but they will come i'm sure .. the starz deal also gives you access to the ondemand section with (so far) 170 movies available on demand.... I assume that will change often/increase over time ...

I have it just for the Setanta/EPL soccer ...
Though i may be tempted to add the starz deal and get the on demand/encore with it rather than go through dish ...

I agree that it needs more channels and i'm sure that's only a matter of time ... ready for mainstream/satellite replacement ... ? nope - probably not yet ... but early development of something that could be mainstream in a year or two .. yup - i think so. Nice to be able to pick and choose what you want when you want it ... but right now i think its more of a "toy" than a "lets phone the satellite company and do away with our subscription"

Nice though .. and lets me watch my football NOW .. not when Dish decides to get off its a**

:)

IMHO this is just the beginning, ITVN is the first real national IPTV company launching mainstream programming with Starz and Encore I am sure many more mainstream channels will come.

I personally would love to see them make a deal to get...

WWE 24/7
Howard TV
HBO On Demand

Now remember for the Starz and Encore service its not just 15 channels, its also the two seperate on demand services of Starz on Demand and Encore On Demand, each of these services feature 75 different on demand features a month, letting you watch what you want when you want.

I have been lucky enough to see some of the new stuff in action and was very happy with what I saw, they took what was some seedy adult service and morphed it into a really good quality consumer friendly service.

There are no more ugly graphics that looked like they were made in someones basement, and porn is not the focus of the service. Everything now was well thought out and made to look great and well polished. This is a service you would be happy to show your friends and neighbors.

Setanta Sports, Starz.... these are just the beginning... There is more to come, and ITVN will be taking a huge step forward over the next week. I am glad I can be part of it and watch it mature.

Oh - and customer service is great too - had to add that bit ..

I called and got an english speaking tech on the first ring !
Let's hope they can keep up that up.

:)

Looks like a ripoff to me. $9.95/month for the service and when you click the channels tab to see what you get... All the channels cost extra. what little they offer. Worse then the sat can cable providers.

I am hoping ITVN creates logically organized programming groups (say $4.99 for a group of 5-10 channels) and individual channels a la carte (say $2-$3 per). How many of us our fed up with having to subscribe to the Deluxo programming package, just so the wife gets her Lifetime/SoapNet, we get our Fox News/Bloomberg, and the kids gets their BOOM and cartoon favorites. Just an example, but I'm sure more than 50% of us subscribing to a higher tier programming package just for an additional channel or two...and paying way too much!

I don't think mainstream cable and satellite subscribers are ready to dump their service provider for ITVN...however, I bet you could find more than a couple million customers willing to drop their cable/satellite programming package and supplement their TV viewing with a la carte channels and small groups of channels (grouplets) of related programming from ITVN.

No idea where you are looking .. but its quite understandable from my side .. the website shows that the $9.95 package gets you Pulse .. livetv .. Radio and silver screen ...

Or you can get the $14.95 starz/encore package

Or you can get the Setanta sports $14.95 per month deal ..

The main difference is that they don't bundle .. and give you loads of crap that you don't want .. you pay for the ones you want to watch.

e.g. on Dish right now i probably have 250 channels .. i would guess that I actually watch 15 of them ...

Which bit of this are you having trouble understanding .. maybe i can explain it to you?

ITVN is not for everyone! If you are looking for basic cable channels then this is not your product as ITVN never claimed to be a competitor to cable or satellite. There are some out there who enjoy watching some of the classic shows and movies and think ITVN is the perfect thing. I have access to thousands of classic TV shows and movies anytime I want and very soon I will also be getting 15 channels of Starz ON DEMAND allowing me access to even a greater library of movies and programming.

I could care less about Pulse or World Radio but you never know. Maybe it would be nice to build a library of classic music videos from my generation rather than this crap of today. World Radio might just offer my wife a chance to listen to something from the country which she was born in or maybe it will me to reconnect with Radio Stations in areas of the US which I use to live.

You said a mouthfull. I don't want ITVN to replace any servce I have now, I want to use it IN ADDITION to the services I have now. The services are in addition to the Satellite Services I am enjoying now and the services I am getting are ones not available to me via Satellite.

A lot of folks want Setanta Sports and are spending HUNDREDS of dollars switching from Dish to DirecTV, when in reality they could ad a ITVN box and be enjoying Setanta NOW without the hassle of switching all the satellite equipment in their house.
