For all those who followed the America's Got Talent thread, Jackie Evancho's album "O Holy Night" is doing well in the charts. In fact, her album is 2nd only to Susan Boyle's latest release, "The Gift." I preordered my copy from amazon.com and it arrived a couple weeks ago.

I wonder what Michael Grimm and Prince Poppycock are up to these days...

JACKIE EVANCHO, the 10-year-old singing sensation best known for her appearance on 'America's Got Talent', has become the biggest-selling debut artist of 2010 after entering the Billboard 200 at number two with her acclaimed album 'O Holy Night'. Evancho also went straight to the top of the Classical Chart after her debut record sold 239,000 copies in its first week, reports The Examiner.

The singer is now the youngest female solo artist ever to debut in the top 10, and the Chairman of Columbia Records, Steve Barnett, said, "Jackie Evancho is one of the purest and finest vocalists I've ever heard, and the initial response to her debut release has been phenomenal." The youngster gained popularity after wowing judges on season five of the reality talent contest, and her parents were thrilled with Evancho's success, saying, "We are all incredibly proud of Jackie. She loves to sing and is incredibly happy to be able to share her gift with the world."

Recently, the 10-year-old spoke to Pennsylvanian television station WPXI about her unique and precocious singing voice, saying, "I never really had a pop voice. But even if I had a pop voice, I would have gone with classical because it's different from what many other children do, because with classical you're able to show emotion in it."

The kid has tallent, that's for sure. Seems like her head is on straight. Hopefully it stays that way.

They probably want to milk all the money on the one that actually charted, as far as they can. Once that's done, the original debut one will be "re-released", and make even more money now that people know she exists, and will want to hear more of her singing. Same thing they've done for years with various bands.
