Last year I swapped a joey2 for a joey4 and they told me just to keep the joey2, just don't sell it. so yesterday I decided reactivate it to use in an upstairs bedroom. The CS guy that activated it said I wouldn't need to do anything with the node/client doohicky outside so I just connected the joey2 to room's coax and an HDMI and plugged it in. I restarted my Hopper 3 and the Joey2 but it keeps saying Broadband Connection Lost and Looking For a Hopper. The tv is not smart. Its set to HDMI/DVI.
It say Link Status: Unlinked, Router Not Detected. I'm wondering about the coax in this room being the cause. It hasn't been used since I had cable or Directv several years ago, maybe it's been disconnected outside? The hub/node/doohicky outside shows Sat, Hopper, client plugged in but not client 2. Would I need to plug in to client 2? I've posted a pic of this outside mess. There's 5 or 6 coax just hanging around doing nothing in the photo. I'm stumped.

I'm going to guess that your coax is not connected at the hub. You are going to need to determine which of those unconnected coaxes is going to the Joey 2 and connect it to the 2nd client.

Should I restart the hopper and joey after plugging each one in? The joey seems to continuously try to connect when I was up there just now.
