Thinking about it, I have caller ID, via the Hopper, on my 4K Joey and Joey 3. It is possible that the Joey 4 may have it as well. Maybe charlesrshell could give us advice, he has Joey 4s.

The 4K joey is a standard DISH Joey that is capable of 4K programming (not very much of it at all) and the Joey4 is an Android Joey that does DISH programming as well as allowing apps from the Google Store.

It's complicated. First the 4K sports on DISH (Channel 540) are HDR and live HDR is not available on the 4K Joey. There are some movies available in 4K and those work, sometimes. The built in app for Netflix will show 4K but not HDR. Prime will show both. As it is you might just as well get a Joey 3, it works though without 4K availability at all.

I just know, watching the disussion, that the Joey 4K shouldn't have been named that...
...but since it was, probably should have used "Joey 5" for the new android/hopper-plus one.

I've seen so much confusion caused for folks new to Dish over the similar name.

You'll have to buy it from a retailer. Hopper +'s are on hold and Dish only installs Joey 4's with Hopper +

It's the policy. Joey 4's have Android TV as the native OS. The Hopper+ Puts Android OS on the Hopper. Without it, the OS's are a mismatch.

Understand, but the hopper + is a flawed product. Why would people want to add problems to their system just to get 4k capability?

The Joey 4's are also flawed. And now they don't work as well without the Plus

Any idea on the future of the Hopper+? I have the Hopper+ and Joey 4s so I am curious about future support.

Just wish all of the bugs were fixed in their software.
They keep raising prices so we are paying more and more for things that don't work
