Joey unable to Link or see other Hopper

We have a 2H/2J setup and when I choose the secondary Hopper from the PVR dropdown, choose a recorded show and Press Play it appears to be playing but the screen remains black. As a fallback I attempted to Link to the other Hopper but when I choose it I cannot get it to say "Linked". Tried DISH directly but sat on hold for Tier 2 Tech Support so long that I grew frustrated and hung up. Figured I'd ask the real experts here. Any ideas as to where to start. Appreciate your help in advance.

This happens to me too on occasion. Rebooting the Joey usually fixes it, if it keeps up reboot the Hopper.

Thanks halo, but unfortunately neither of those fixes worked. Any DIRT members care to chime in? I'd hate to spend my Saturday on the phone with DISH tech support.

Try swapping Joeys to determine whether its the Joey or not...

It could be cabling or a bad port on the switch. This will help make that determination.

I had similar behavior and discovered that the installer had left a diplexer in the line. Bad signal=weird results.
