ku hd cutoff date

does anybody know when the few hd channels on ku are going away...any guesses are good enough too....

Diretv is fazeing out those channels and putting them on a different satellite. The main reason behind this is that they do not own the satellite those channels come from now, they rent the transponders from another company. They are moving the channels to the satellite they do own so the dont have to pay the rent any more. Thats why they are fazeing out the locals from the 72.5 as well.

They do own the satellites at 110 and 119. These locations are shared between Directv and Dish, but each has their own satellites and transponder licenses. Directv will be moving the international channels from 72.5 to 119 (probably by the end of this year).

Bob - I think you mean moving the international channels from 95 - 72.5 just carries some SD locals, and those will be gone very soon.

That would mean all mpeg2 boxes replaced ?
If thats the case, I doubt it would be that soon, maybe the end of the year.
