If we were *truly* lucky maybe external storage would be sneaked in early. But as always with anything software related Im just hoping nothing important breaks.

It's probably governed by serial # and in partial release to make sure there aren't any significant issues.

I could be wrong though :)

Best,

just in case........ I will be doing the nightly update, as well as a check switch and a power down/reboot.....

whether this helps or not isn't the point... the fact that it makes me feel better is. :D

Like John said, they go by receiver's numbers. Since it's a Partial Phase release, only receivers on the batch they chose will get it. When it goes to Full Phase, all receivers will get it.

Good luck to those that get it first.:D

It will make ZERO difference. Worst case, you could end up doing this every night up 'til Mar 1 until ALL receivers get it. Turn the receiver 'off' when you go to bed each night and it will take the update when it's serial # range comes up. You CANNOT force anything.

It not definate it will spool then I am told it has been tentaivly scheduled for Partial release on Thursday, in fact I was told its a 50 / 50 shot it would go out then.

I hope it does, cant wait for some new goodies. :)

I just hope that they really fix DD audio output on HDMI and audio dropouts when playing shows from HDD.

Not much for me to get excited about here. I'm sure it will be nice for some. I never use PIP (except for tuner swapping). Hopefully they are hard at work at making it possible for me to schedule my 622 via the internet!! That would be DishONLINE!

I just want it to fix the two second black screen and black spikes that show up intermittently on my 622. I have phoned it in to tech support and they made a note of it on my account. I was waiting for a software update to see if it might help. If this doesn't, then I'm calling back and requesting a new 622.

This is Dish. Live the adventure.

:haha :haha :haha :up

From what I am hearing from Beta testers the new software works really well and is really solid.

It should be. They've certainly had a long enough time to work on it since our last update! :p

But I'll be happy to see it. I wasn't too interested in the map down until a couple of days ago when I found out my wife was recording SD programs that had HD versions available!

There is only one feature I hope is present in this upgrade, and thats the ability for the receiver to automatically change output resolutions based on content. I'm sick and tired of constantly having to switch between 1080i and 480p depending on what I'm watching.
