:eureka i am really up set at this hd upgrade I'm going through, so i added up what the equipment would coast me. using the amounts provided by one of the sponsor links above the vip211 the dish1000+ and the dpp44 switch and shipping to me comes to approx $675.00. Davide that by lets say a high lease fee of $10/mo i got 5.5 years to brake even. I'm shire by that time receivers will have changed to the point it wouldn't be worth a dime to sell if i owned it. and most upgrades from one leased receiver to another is min right??? it gets even more interesting with the vip622. now with the vip622 the dish1000+ with the dpp44 switch i get approx $880.00. Davide again by the high lease fee of $10/mo i get 7.3 years. even though lease fees are not that high i wanted to see the worse case scenario. being on there everything package gives you almost no dvr and lease fees. so then the time to brake even is so long we will be using rockets to get around town like the jetsons. just made me feel a slight bit better about leasing. so $49 or $199 isn't looking so bad. i still be live they need to come down on the VIP622 to a max of $125 so the average guy can get one. and could or should be $100. at that price i couldn't complain.

i agree... i think they need to drop the price a bit on the 622.... personally I haven't upgraded because I am in the middle of a divorce, and because of that broke!!!... I currently have a 625 and couldnt live without the DVR. So since I dont have the cash to drop on a new receiver at that price range right now... i'm stickin with my standard DVR

:( that's why i had to settel for the 211 not enough cash to swing it. and they are just asking too much right now. i think the VIP211 at $49 is reasonable. so if you figure the VIP622 is dual then that $100. maybe another $25 max for it being dvr like on SD the regular receivers are $49 then the dvr is $69. so i figured $115-$125max but not $199 and certainly not the ridiculous $299 it use to be. i bet this fall it will come down again. after they get the majority that can afford it now. then they will get the rest of us poor folk. what do you think another $50 off getting it down to $150. maybe late Sept early Oct.?
