With Android's explosive popularity in the Smartphone marketplace, I expect it was only a matter of time before the Black Hats would take notice. Android malware enters 2011

I'm sure that the same exploits that allow RedRain and BlackSnow (or whatever) to root the iPhone can be used to deliver similar malware to the iPhone platform as well. How much longer before we see McAfee and Symantec hawking AV products for these two platforms?
 
That McAfee link is not actually a mobile platform anti-virus, more like a Net Nanny.
 
There already is antivirus software on the Android platform and has been for a while. There is an app called Anti Virus by a company called Droid Security. AVG bought out Droid Security recently. There's also Lookout Mobile Security that is an AV app and allows you to find your phone if lost or stolen and do a remote wipe. The paid version of AVG allows that as well.
