I was browsing the Cinema 10 channels last night, I looked at Cinema 10 and found the same Movies playing again. No new additions. Cinema 10 is just not worthy having it in the current format.

I have said and will say reduce the damn channels or increase the volume of movies. If we expect a movie per day per channel (without repeats), we are looking at 300 movies per month. This will translate to 3,600 titles per year. That's a lot of movies if you have such a library. We got 68 movies in the December 2003. This is not enough to satisfy 10 movie channels playing a movie a day. This means that in a week you already have played all your movies if you do not show any repeats (about that).

I really hope VOOM makes a decision about Cinema 10. Cinema 10 will not survive given the current format of 70 movies per month. There is too many repeats with this format. Increase the volume, I say.

More movies would be nice, of course, but I don't agree that VOOM should either increase the movies or decrease the number of channels. Two or three movies a week is my max (and that includes Starz, etc.); some weeks I don't get to see any. I would hate for a particular movie to play only one day in a month. There are still several December movies I'd like to see. I really don't view the quantity as a problem. I would like to see movies in OAR, especially old movies.

Compson,

I think you are in the minority that do not see the repeat of movies as a problem. I am not saying show one movie every day but as it is right now (Month of December only) ~ 22% of the movies were new and 88% were repeats. This is too much repeat (88%) and there needs to be a balanced. I will rather have two or three channels dedicated to just new movies within the month and have them repeat in the other 7 channels 100% of the time.

It's sorta like having video on demand without a pvr (he, he).

So much bandwidth, so little content, and even less technology.

How does the poem go, "one bright day in the middle of the night...."

my 3rd c for the night,
GG

So far 26 New Movies will be introduced in the month of January. Given that these are not your movies that appear in Show, HBO, Starz and so on but at least are the same repeats from last month. This is a good star that shows that VOOM will be changing in the coming months. I like to see more of the IFC movies or foreign movies.

Sean,

I agree, more new stuff - more often. For me I'd like the off the wall, off the beaten path stuff - you now less slow motion of crap flying around and fewer women with fake boobs. Dig up "A Thousand Clowns" or the undubbed version of "Mad Max" and I'd be happy.

Also, the list shrinks for January as it looks like you have "Stanley & Iris" twice.

"Stanley & Iris" corrected. The count is up to 30 new titles in January. There seems to be some interested movies and I haven't had time to watch some of them.

Sean,

I agree with you that we need a much larger selection of movies on Cinema 10.

Your post of December 23, on this forum, identified 87 HD movies to be shown on HBO in January. I believe that your December 23 post puts Cinema 10 in proper perspective.

Derek.

Up to 35 new titles. I have to say that some of these movies are foreign to me but when you actually sit down and find out some of them are very good - like Molly... and others I am planning to watch. So the repeats could be a blessing or a curse.

Cinema 10Alert: The Terminator 2/7 & 2/8

SYNOPSIS: A ruthless 21st-century cyborg comes to 1984 Los Angeles to kill a waitress and change history. Directed by James Cameron.

DATE / TIME: February 7: 6:00AM, 8:00AM, 10:00AM, 12:00PM, 2:00PM, 4:00PM, 6:00PM, 8:00PM, 10:00PM

February 8: 12:00AM, 2:00AM, 4:00AM, 6:00AM, 8:00AM, 10:00AM, 12:00PM, 2:00PM, 4:00PM, 6:00PM

VOOM excusive channels disappeared Feb.17

I went to the last day in the program guide for VOOM and saw that there were no listings for VOOM channel after 7 pm. I thought these channels looped all day long so I am a little surprised to see the programming disappear. Maybe something is going to happen on the 17th.

Oh yeah, the Encore True channel, 268 has finally been changed to the Action channel.

Zap2it does not keeps programming information beyond a certain point. In this case Feb 17th 7pm. If you look again tomorrow, it will show the programming after 7pm.

80 titles through 2/24/04 and 29 new titles added in February 2004. 36% of the movies presented through 2/24/04 in February 2004 were additions. Not a bad rate if it was one channel but it is 10 channels!

137 unique movie titles since December 2003 has been shown. 64 New Titles has been added in two months (January and February). I did not keep track of the new titles in December. So 10 channels x 30 days = 301 titles to get 1 per channel without repeats. I think by the time VOOM is finally launched and it's out of beta mode it will have these 300 titles or close to it. Give them 2 more months and (if V* keeps adding at this rate), V* will have it. This means that Cinema 10 can only get better as this library is increased. Sucks that we (the beta testers) had to go through the pain of seeing it developing but it should be good once the library of movies is increased.

24 new titles added in the first 15 days of March... Out of those I like F/X, Thelma & Louise, The Little Drummer Girl, & The Mackintosh Man. The rest are not very attractive to me.

rang1995,

it looks like you are going to get your wish. A Clockwork Orange will be shown on Cinema 10 in April... I did not get to see it myself so it will be fun to see it.
