Didnt know if this was possible or not

For the 147th time since they got Dish 3 years ago, my grandpa once again (as my Grandma put it when she called me at work yesterday) f**ked up the TV again. He has been known to forget to hit "satellite" after he turns the TV back on so he screws up the TV by turning it to the wrong channel or somehow turning on the "video" screen instead of channel 3

Is there a way on the black remotes (301) that you can set it up so the only options for TV mode are on/off and volume up/down? I thought I heard once about a "limited" mode...or is that just on the newer units?

Push "TV" button on remote until all lights light up. Push "Channel Down" once and push the "#" key.

and that takes care of the problem?

I'll have to try that
