Thanks for the update. Much prefer they way they are broken down. Great information for the few foolhardy ones who think there isn't that much HD left to add. A few notes

-As mentioned, Fox News was never officially mentioned by Dish
-When did Black TV News Channel get announced? I saw it on AVSforum, but never saw their source, either.
-Fashion TV might fit better in the foreign import section

You can add Fox Sports Wisconsin to the list of RSNs that are not 24/7 HD. They show a bunch of the Milwaukee Brewers/Bucks games in HD, but Dish has "game only" coverage of them, so as soon as the post game show is over, so is the alternate channel.

Don't forget to add just about all of Dish's HD locals to that list - as they add locals on a spot beam that doesn't cover 98% of the area. Or at least the my area (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA) this is true. Just search my posts and you'll see what I mean....as well as everyone else with same issuse as me. And the thing is, Dish has NO intention to fix their problem!!!

While I feel your pain, this list is about NATIONAL HD. There is a separate list for local.

And you are using a bit of hyperbole. The spot covers around half DMA. I suspect it may be fixed with Quetzsat-1 around 2010. Little comfort for you, know, though. Really they should put your locals on 77W CONUS, as other locals are now going there.

But please continue the conversation about local in the local thread. DBS just recently updated that list as well.

I fixed the RSN snafu. I have highlighted FOX News because it has been confirmed by multiple CSRs as coming (Take that for what it's worth.) and there is a HIGH likelihood it is one of the 20-30 uplinked HD test channels. Black TV News Channel I labeled because AVSForum made mention of a deal acknowledged only by Black TV News Channel.

Fashion TV HD is not listed under Foreign Channel Imports because that list is specifically for channels that are NOT available in any capacity within the United States. Fashion TV has acknowledged their existence and availability within the United States to any pay TV provider. None of the ones (unfortunately) on the Imports list have acknowledged that they are even available to negotiate for U.S. television carriage. I seriously would enjoy a few of them too, not the least of which would be Disney CineMagic.

Nice work, but when was Black News announced?

AMC MAY have been on that list way back in April or whatever, but I think IFC was as well. So they should either both be off or both be on. Actually, WE was on there too, I think.

The Movie Channel might have been uplinked back in the spring, but I think it was pulled. Unless it's on that "TMP E" channel that is still hanging around.

Finally...and this one I'm sure of...WMax was not only uplinked, it was available for a day. But it was the SD feed upconverted, and it was in Spanish! The whole thing was a mistake, and was fixed by the following afternoon. Yes, I know it's still on Lyngsat, but it's not there, unless something has changed recently.

And RFD does not mean "Rural Farm Development". RFD is a postal designation for rural areas. (Remember "Mayberry RFD"?)

It means "Rural Free Delivery", but that's not the name of the channel either. The channel is just called RFD-TV, that's all. ESPN stands for "Entertainment & Sports Programming Network", but that's not what it's named.

Black TV News HD was only officially announced by Black TV News themselves I thought. AMC is still listed in the AVS list as well, but not along with IFC and WE TV. I am going to update the list to highlight IFC and WE because with the number of temp HD channels, they are probably uplinked just not available. Either way, Dish Network did announce all 3 at one time. I have only seen updated info for AMC though.

I think AMC was announced in a Charlie Chat way back, maybe last March. I doubt it will come soon (along with WE and IFC) given the Voom litigation. However, those need to be a Dish priority. I recently did a poll of new had based on the old list, and AMC was the top vote getter, and IFC wasn't far behind.

No mention of Dish on the Black Television News channel website, save for one comment from a reader mentioning they would like to see it on Dish. This website says it has reached an agreement with Dish and Comcast. The agreement with Comcast is confirmed, so who knows, maybe they are right.

Off topic here, but Black Television News Channel...that is a bit racist. Imagine if a channel called White Television News Channel. Imagine the how that would go over. I don't mind the idea of a channel catering to any group of people, but this pushes more of a wedge between us. We are now going to have a mixed race president don't you think it is about time we started acting like a mixed race country. I am sure if any of the national news channels focused only on "white" news it would cause an outrage.
