I need a clarification about satfinder, one of my earlier posting on true south was answered with satfinder data.
North Riverside, IL 60546
Latitude 41° 50.244'N Longitude 87° 49.284'W
Sadoun site has a link to gazeteer and they provided my lat and long as.
Zip Code: 60546 PO Name: North Riverside (IL)
Location: 41.837367 N, 87.821356 W
So why is there a difference ?
Also from satfinder, the abreviation AZ M = Azimuth w/ Magnetic Deviation correct ?
I am using USALS on my Coolsat 5000 and IA-8 is not included in their sat list
so I picked a blank renamed it and proceeded entering info, I didn't get very far, so I decided to go for AMC 3, when setting up Antenna Position I assume I fill the blanks for Long and Lat with data provided but found that spaces provided had an extra space so I started with 041.5 and 087.4, Does this look right ?
Weather Permitting I've decided to start from scratch since my help decided to do things his way, and the outcome was no signal, so I'm a little frustrated, I have toggled the frequencies to active Freq using LYNGSAT, and it looks right since Frequencies show correct polarity and SR.
I'm looking forward to FTA, and all who have answered have been helpful.
I have thought about looking for sats with stationary dish setup, but would like to give the motor setup one more try, before taking this route.
At the moment I feel pretty blind as to how close I am to success, I hate to Imagine not being calibrated on pole,motor, and Dish, what a nightmare.
