Ok, DSR6000 here with dual tuners enabled. One day it was windy last week and ever since I get intermittent "searching for satellite signal on In 2" error messages. As I have now found out, it is when the receiver is trying to record two different shows at the same time, since it needs to access both feeds in order to do this.
I went ahead and changed the satellite setup back to one feed in the DTivo menu, disabling the ability to record two shows at once. Satellite In 1 always worked, tested it on both satellites and all transponders, able to receive a signal on every transponder for satellite 119-except 23 & 31 transponders, and 101-4 & 12. Now I try what was Sat In 2 and move it over to In 1. On sat 119, it can only acquire a signal on 25, 27, and 29, and sat 101 it receives all the ODD transponders and no even numbered ones. Ok, so now I reconnect both feeds like they were originally, reenable dual tuner capacity in the satellite setup, and test the signals. For some reason, it acquires signals on both feeds-even for feed #2 which when by itself only received signals as noted above. What gives? Is the test off in some way?
Thinking maybe it works now, I went ahead and tried to record two different channels, and my message has returned. I think I have it isolated down to being whenever the 2nd feed needs to access a channel that is located on one of those transponders that it cannot access, voila, we get the message.
I have an oval dish with dual LNB, at least from what I can tell on the ground. I believe the switch is built into the dish as both feeds run right from the dish to the tivo. Is it possible that one of those LNB's got messed up in the wind while the other one is intact? It's just strange why one works and the other one does not. It's a tough (and tall) climb to get up on the roof; before I waste my time-and risk falling off-I want to be sure this is a possibility even...any thoughts on this?
