I live in the Sacramento CA area, area code 95682 I keep geeting picture freeze and pixelation on all channels and sound problems and pixelation on the local network channels. Yesterday I got a complete signal loss for a few minutes.
My signal strengths are:
110 = 73
118 = 30
119 = 65
129 = 50
These were all measured on a crystal clear day, the system was installed by Dish Network about a year ago it never has seemed to be right, it took the installer over 6 hrs to install the system, and he used the existing internal cables in the house, I had Directv and then Uverse all on the same cables and did not have this problem now Dish is on the same cables. all the cables from the lnbs to the switch were replaced with new cable.

Question. what should a good signal level for this area be? When I had Directv I was getting signal strengths in the high 90's, now the highest I get is a 73 on a good day.

Thanks for any advice.

Ok thanks for the reply here is what I am getting.
SAT 110
On the transponders I am getting a low of 52 on Tpnder 31 and a High of 72 on tpnder 20 on the spotbeams I am getting
04 = 31
12 = 22
23 = 37
25 = 47
26 = 64
SAT 118
On the transponders I am getting a low of 24 on tpnder 16 a low of 28 on tpnder 18 I am getting a high of 58 on tpnder 31 all the others are between 24 and 58

Sat 119
On the transponders I am getting a low of 48 on tpnder 02 and a high of 73 on tpnder 21 there are two spotbeams I get
01 = 11
03 = 15

SAT 129
On the transponders I am getting a low of 50 on tpnder 22 and a high of 71 on tpnder 09. I have six spotbeams on this sat
01 = 41
02 = 33
05 = 48
06 = 9
08 = 10
10 = 14

I have two satellite inputs with I think two switches DPP 500+ w/seperator

Thanks for the help

SAT 129
On the transponders I am getting a low of 50 on tpnder 22 and a high of 71 on tpnder 09. I have six spotbeams on this sat
01 = 41
02 = 33
05 = 48
06 = 9
08 = 10
10 = 14

disregard Transponders 1-16....they're all spotbeams

see what 17-32 are. That is where the national HD is

DISH is using a different signal scale than Directv your signals are appropriate.

Thanks I wasn't sure, the bar graph goes to 125 so I thought I should have more signal, still not sure why I am getting the freezing and pixeling and the bad aduio on the local networks.

low signals?

Dish meters say 125 because they use to go that high. About 3-4 years ago dish sent out a software upgrade that "neutered" the meter

on 110 & 119 70's is about right
as for your locals for Sacramento check these transponders

110 TP18 is HD locals
110 TP20 is SD locals

Iceberg,
Thanks for the link that's good info. OK here is what I am getting on 110 TP18 "0" and on 110 TP20 "72"

Thanks Again

I assume you have HD receiver?
If so then there is an issue because you should have signal on 110 TP18 for the HD locals
