Hi all,
I'm new at this game and realizing there's a lot to learn
This is my first post here. I'm located in Canada between Newport VT and Ayer's Cliff QC. I've been a subscriber of BEV for about 10 years.
While I'm trying to decide which package to buy, a friend just lent me his Coolsat Pro 4000 receiver to hook up to my existing bev dish/lnb. First impression: WOW! This is as good (bad?) as the Internet... a guy could loose himself and waste a lifetime getting caught up in this web...
So, after configuring the receiver for my dish, I see I can get a good signal on 110W and 119W. A first auto scan gives me a big bunch of channels but, a 100 questions/problems arise
Here are the 2 main ones:
1) My computer is a Mac. Is there a site where I can find FTA related files and Apps ? For example, is there a Mac App that reads .ndf files?
2) I'm having trouble getting a decent on-screen channel list: 90% of listings say "No information" and when I enter a list of favorites (say Sports) after a short time of zapping around, the list seems to change by loosing some of the pre-selected channels.
Any advice would be appreciated.
