Manual Unpair 50.0 & 52.0 Remotes

Just curious, is there a way to manually unpair 50.0 & 52.0 remotes like the 40.0 has?

1. Press and hold the SAT mode button until all mode lights on the top of the remote light up.
2. Press and hold HOME and GUIDE at the same time for 5 seconds (If successful, you will hear three descending tones)

If you have the CUI, you can also hit the Menu (House) button three times. Your paired remotes will be on the right, each with an Unpair button.

Awesome, thanks

LOL, thanks. That is the normal way. Read post #2 for the procedure to manually unpair the remote.

Both ways are manual. I, personally, use sdfntx's method, it just seems simpler to me. Of course, if you have more than one of the same kind of remote paired to a receiver, JSheridan's method is easiest.
I have seen a 40.0 get locked up for some reason and the manual method was all that worked. The normal method wouldn't.

I've got 8 remotes paired to each Hopper.

Both are good to know. As Bobby also said, I consider my option to be manual, too, and much easier to remember. As long as it gets done . . .

Good Lord!
Yep, that's for sure. LOL Got RF modulators on both Hopper 3s, Requires remotes all over the place. LOL I wish the Hoppers could sync recordings to other TVs thru out the house. I probably could reduce down on the remotes.

If you had cat6 wired through out you could have a hdmi splitter instead of rf modulators. Maybe a future project?

I only have 2 remotes paired to the h3, mine and hers.

LOL, too tired for any more projects. My DISH TV hobby has costed me enough for now.

Today I had to manually un-pair a 54.0 remote because the Hopper it was paired to is no longer here and I had to use it on a new Hopper. So I Googled how to do it because I forgot and got this thread. Pretty sad when you Google something and find that you were the one who originally posted the answer. Getting old is a bitch.

Tell me about it, golden years my butt.....
