No. But they did "remove" in on channel 247 for some markets that have a local METV affiliate. Here in Chicago they had 247 available the first couple days after turning it on, but then channel 247 was hidden from us since we have METV on channel 23. I don't know how they chose who gets 247 and who doesn't, but here in Chicago we don't have it.
I have ME TV available via OTA but they annoyingly preempt programming with a lot of local nonsense. I was really happy when Dish elected to carry it, and I think they do a pretty good job rendering the SD picture.
We get Me-TV Here Local into local high definition ( and over the air HD as well as a second OTA standard definition low quality sub Channel). I've noticed that Me-TV is now airing much better quality source for some their programs. While the source is not in HD, the high SD quality of the source on the HD LiL is excellent! Charlie's Angels being one of the programs using very high-quality SD source to broadcast looking excellent on HD LiL, almost like true hi-def.
I never got the 247 feed that I know of, and we only get it OTA via sub channels on Boston's WCVB and Manchester, NH's WMUR. I'll need to confirm about 247. However, I do get the national Laff feed, despite getting it OTA on a sub channel of Boston's WFXT.
My OTA version of ME TV is 720p and obviously the Dish version is SD. I wish Dish would render their version in HD instead of the current SD, it would seem they certainly have the available bandwidth to do that. The MeTV network feed is 1080i. If you're seeing it in 720 or SD, it's being down/cross converted.
Then your local is cross converting to 720p.My OTA version of ME TV is 720p and obviously the Dish version is SD. I wish Dish would render their version in HD instead of the current SD, it would seem they certainly have the available bandwidth to do that.
We get Metv Ota in 720p as well in southeast Texas. Picture looks great even on old episodes of tv shows in the 60s and 70s. Wonder Woman looks as good as any hd show out there in full 16x9 screen. Even Svengoli is showing old movies in full hd print now and the shows look brand new. Here we also get METV OTA in 720p and it pretty sharp for the old shows they run.
Then your local is cross converting to 720p.
umm... yes. The HD feed is 1080i. If a local station is showing it in 720, it's being cross converted. If it's being shown in SD, it's being down converted.
Not my point, Sam. MY point was that it would be nice for Dish to convert channel 247 to HD. Without HBO/Cinemax, they should have the bandwidth to do this. It would be nice for Dish to render ME TV in 1080i but even 720P would be a nice improvement. Then your local is cross converting to 720p.
LOL! There's a list that's been floating around here for a long time of at least 25 basic/premium cable channels that Dish carries that are still in SD. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but I'm pretty sure MeTV isn't even on the Dish HD radarMY point was that it would be nice for Dish to convert channel 247 to HD. There I fixed your error.umm... yes. The HD feed is 1080i. If a local station is showing it in 720, it's beingcrossDOWN converted. If it's being shown in SD, it's being down converted.
