There were 3 channels that were not broadcasting on 3/16/10 -- 630 (Toronto/Ottawa), 631 (Phoenix/Tampa Bay) and 635 (Philadelphia/Nashville). At first, there was a picture for about 5 seconds and then nothing. Later on, there was just nothing. I think they came back on after about 2 hours.

I called Dish Tech and wasted 45 minutes doing reboots (soft and hard), switch checks and countless times on hold while he checked with someone else. He then announced that he was connecting me to advanced tech but came back a few minutes later to tell me they had a high volume of calls and couldn't connect me. I asked him if he had access to a tv so he could check these channels but he said he didn't. When I suggested that it would be helpful if the technical personnel had this access so they could quickly see if there was a problem on their end, he said that was a good idea and he would suggest this to his supervisor. Duh!

So anyway I still don't know what caused the problem and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem or if it was something wrong with my equipment.

Thanks for your help.

yep, i had the same problem. i got in touch with tech support. did they same hoop jumping you did, except the guy i was talking to said he had another person chatting with the same problem. he said he was going to forward the information i gave him about the problem to engineering. they leafs-ottawa game finally came on for the 3rd period.

I Tivo'd the Nash/Flyers game, and it activaed with just a few minutes left in the 2nd. Glad I was at another game (Stars/Sharks) or I would have been furious.

Yeah and on top of that the NHL SD channels (that were on) looked like garbage last night. I know they're not pretty to start with but the picture seemed to have a lag of some sort. Not happy about the whole thing either...

It's always difficult to choose which sd cannel to watch when there are two feeds -- they both are often really crappy. I find that MSG usually has the best sd, maybe because it's an sd version of the hd broadcast (which we can't get on CI). The Canadian sd broadcasts are the worst.
