Another round of programming is going dark for C-Band systems, according to a note sent to dealers from National Programming Service. Effective June 20, all Showtime channels (including 16 flavors of Showtime, four Movie Channel versions and Flix East and West) will turn off. May 1 will see Blue Highways TV leave the big dish and earlier this week WGCL (CBS), WSB (ABC), WXIA (NBC), WPIX, Cartoon Network, Spike TV, VH-1, TRUTV, TNT and CMT left the service.

NPS repeats its opinion that Motorola will cut the cord completely on C-Band subscribers by the end of this year.

EXACTLY! - Their (NPS) opinion, not a Motorola statement!

More C Band going dark

We have had our C Band dish for 12 years, and had very little trouble with it, except for having to get a 4DTV Motorola. Friends who have Dish TV seem to have a lot more problems - rain, blackouts, etc. Now that a new satellite is apparently going up, let's hope the signal gets better. So even though we would love to keep our old C Band, planned obsolescence has decreed otherwise. Until we spring for a Dish, we really mourn especially TNT, which has the best drama programming of any, including the networks (always excepting The Mentalist). Ovaltine
