Here is an EXCELLENT document from DIRECTV which better explains 4K setups on DIRECTV. This document should answer most 4K questions that people have.

Enjoy, you folks on the bleeding edge.

I'm preferring to wait before getting a 4K TV, whole new Genie and additional mini, as well as a higher-level programming package.

You will pay for it. I'm waiting.

The HR54 supports one 4K channel stream at a time

So a home with multiple 4K TVs will need multiple HR54s in order to watch different live 4k channels simultaneously?

you can only have 1 hr54 per account (1 genie of any kind)
