DIRECTV Adds Original Music Programming
DIRECTV has signed an agreement with Network LIVE, a joint venture between America Online, XM Satellite Radio and AEG, to develop original live music programs. Slated for launch in March 2006, Network LIVE will become the music and live entertainment programming partner for DIRECTV. The musical programming will be broadcast in both standard and high-definition TV.

According to DIRECTV, Network LIVE will provide two live music entertainment series: live performances from multi-platinum recording artists in major venues around the world and concerts from groundbreaking artists performing in more intimate club-like settings. Network LIVE will also deliver comedy and special event programming. Look out for more details in a future issue.

Actually I think more waisted bandwidth is when a hot girl gets too skinny. Now Direc is wasting bandwidth!

Much like the must carry deals for human interest, religion and shopping (they must have a set percentage of these based on total selections) I really think this was a partnership deal struck long ago (like early 05) and was already in the "bullpen" for when the actual producers go it all together. Then the announcement late December '05 comes. This doesn't make it any less of a waste but it not like they just popped it out of nowhere; it was already slated and bandwidth allocated and they get paid to have it on.

If it was HD I think it would be great. Especially compared to CD-USA. Now thats a waste of bandwidth of both SD & HD.
