We are approaching the 20-year anniversary of the infamous all-time trade of Wayne Gretzky by the Oilers to the Kings.

With that in mind, what are the most significant sports trades you can ever recall?

I'm not talking about big trades that occured before you were born; I meant those trades you visibly remember as a fan.


For me, it was October 25, 1991.

Pat LaFontaine becomes a Buffalo Sabre.

A Sabres fan I became.
 
Herschel Walker for about 1/2 of the Vikings roster (but hey, they got 2 personalities in the deal!) :)

Golden State Warriors gets Celtics #1 overall pick (Joe Barry Carroll) and #13 overall pick (Rickey Brown) in the 1980 NBA Draft. Boston gets Robert Parish and the #3 overall pick (Kevin McHale) from the Warriors.
