I was needing some advice on dish mounting,
I want to mount this 1.2 sat on a vacant utility pole in my yard
(no wires attached to the utility pole)
to keep from putting down a pole and also it
will give some height. anybody got this setup or simular to one with.
Thanks

Hey Ice,
I had to hunt up a tape measure, it is 26'' measuring around the pole, I thought I could just lag screw the mounting plate to the pole.

never thought of that :)

you could do it that way...this may sound stupid but make sure the pole is plumb :)

Covack, the home improvement stores sell a pole level for 3$ it has 3 levels in it and uses strapes/rubber bands to go a round the pole/post, that should be the easiest way to trell if the pole/post is plumb,,also i have seen u-bolts that big,, if i were you i would go that route instead of lag bolts, one save you the drilling into a round surface ( the headaches of that dilema are many) plus then you can easily make needed adjustments
