Right.

If anyone has an older Mitsubishi TV then you know how companies can f**k you. They offered a "promise" that the TV you buy today (I bought a 65" Diamond about 3 years ago) will work with future technologies. The TV only has component no DVI or HDMI connector. The user based clamoured for the promise to be fullfilled but Mit said no way we woun't do it because DVI/HDMI is not an inductry standard yet and won't be.

Yet all of their new TV's have the DVI connectors. They did put out a "promise" module that has a firewire connection and OTA tuner (cost $1000).

What a load of crap

This is how I feel right now about DISH. They say it will work...great. In two years when DISH is offering 40-50 HD channels at MPEG4, I will still only get the 4 channels I get now...same load of crap.

Thanks for the vent

Actually, the Mitsubishi DLP I bought a few months ago only has an HDMI input and no DVI input. It seems Mitsubishi has decided to use HDMI rather than DVI. Since my receiver only has a DVI output, I had to buy a $100 cable that has DVI on one end and HDMI on the other.

So here's a question: How many SD channels could Dish get on a transponder if they upgraeded from QPSK to 8PSK? I mean, if you're going to obsolete existing hardware, why not dream big?
