Hypothetical question:

It would be cool to share recordings with my neighbor in the condo next to me. Kind of like the "Send Show" feature that my old REPLAY TV had...

If we got our two HR2Xs on the same swim network (connected w DECAs, both with whole-home-enabled on their respective accounts), could I share programs between the two EVEN if they were activated on SEPARATE accounts?

Anyone tried it?

Nope. Its only going to work between receivers on the same account. You'd also have to be absolutely on the same IP network. I tried it in my house that used to have a 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2 network, with a router joining them. A receiver or directv2pc client on the .2 network was refused by a receiver on the .1 network.

I don't see why it wouldn't work unless the receivers know to only look for your account number somehow.

how about one of you cancelling the service.
The other one gets an extra DVR, split the costs.... cheaper tv for all AND easy mrv
