mtu and 360

Need some help. Router and modem both set at 1492,but i get failed when i run setup. I have read everything i can find and tried it all,but still no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated. Using linksys wrt54g,which is supposed to be compatable with 360.

mtu needs to be set to 1500 and you need to open ports 88 and 3074. Set your 360's IP address to a static IP and then port forward the 88 and 3074 to that IP address and that will take care of your problems.

I had the computer guy from work try to get on x box live but no luck. He said everything is like it should be,but still get mtu failed on wireless and wired setup. Do you think box may be bad?
