I am running an Openbox. On many tps the sound
of the voices is almost drowned out by the music.
Have tried adjusting the sound to no avail.
Any suggestions would be most welcome

yeah need to know which channels

I know some of the channels on 97W have 2 audio tracks
one is left only
one is right only

and you have to select that

BYU-TV on 89W KU is the same way. They have different languages on different sides of the audio track

Press the AUDIO button on remote, then use LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select Left Or Right audio channel.
Then press EXIT.

I'll add to this, that on the OpenBox this selection is specific to this channel, does not change other channel audio, and will stay put until you change it again. Very nice not well known feature.

Thanks guys for helping.
Here is ONE of the places that the sound of the voices is garbled by music:
87W C AMC3 "This Network" Have trouble with H and V.
On the Openbox I hit the "Audio" button - Sterio is bad, Mono is bad
, Left is bad, Right is bad.
In defense of the Openbox you must know that I am almost deaf and
use the Sound Wizardll to pick up the sound from the TV. It uses a infared
signal. Other than that I hear the sound without any comprehension.
This still does not explain music overshadowing the voices.

I've noticed of that channel that it appears that they use quite a bit of compression on the audio. Background noises are boosted, and the dialog is held down. Much like commercials. Makes the average perceived loudness higher. On some of the programs on THisTV, it's quite noticeable. (I've noticed on some very sound intensive scenes, it's driven so hard, it becomes distorted) Maybe this will help - If there is an input level adjustment on the IR transmitter unit of the Sound Wizard, try turning that down some. If it doesn't have an input adjustment, turn the output of the TV or satellite receiver down(Whichever is sending audio to the transmitter) Then, if there's a volume on the headset, you may have to turn that up some. Hope that helps.

Thank you Fat Air for responding.
There are two controls on the Sound Wizard - volume and tone.
The sound from the TV is turned completely off.
No adjustment of volume or tone on the Sound Wizard makes any difference.

The problem might be solved with the bad sound.
Status now: Tv volume is set to zero.
The openbox box receiver volume is set at about 25%.
The Sound Wizard Volume is set at 100% or I would not
be able to hear.
The "THIS" channel is now coming in clear.
Will keep on testing.
Thanks
