I received a notification from UPS today that I have a package from Dish Network scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

My service has been on Pause for nearly 9 months and I recently extended it another 9 months. Any guesses on what they are shipping to me???

Not a clue but please refresh us when it arrives.

The package is here and....

It was an empty box for me to return my Joey 2. No mention of my Hopper or 4K Joey. Since my account is on Pause, I'm not sure why they are asking for any equipment back, but it especially doesn't make sense to ask for just one receiver out of three. I chatted with Dish and they told me not to send anything back.

Eventually Dish may decide they are tired of me sitting on Pause and ask for everything back, but that hasn't happened yet!

Careful, the first box comes empty. The second box comes with a horse's head. Dish is getting a bit more aggressive on retaining customers.

We paused our home service for six months. Shortly after calling to restore service, I received a return box in the mail. After three calls to Dish (the first two telling me to ignore the box), it was determined for some reason when I restored service they didn't restore one of my Joeys. Foolish me for thinking that "take my service off pause" would mean take everything off pause, including all of the Joeys. They were about to bill me for not returning equipment.

I don’t think you can pause that long.
I did. I contacted Dish, let them know that I was coming to the end of my pause period and that I have an ongoing construction project that prevents me from mounting the dish at the moment (which is true). The rep asked how long I wanted to pause for and then put me right back on a fresh 9-month pause. We'll see if I end up getting a bill for that Joey, but I'll deal with that if/when it happens.
