mywi won't turn off

My iphone 3Gs is jailbroken 3.1.3 using the spirit jailbreak. All was great until i installed mywi. Even after uninstslling the wifi radio in my phone continues to broadcast mywi's ssid. Its making my battery die quickly. I have tried respringing and rebooting. All thats left is to restore my phone on itunes i guess. Any ideas?

Mine does that sometimes. I usually turn the slider back on to off a few times until it says "cleaning up My WiFi. That works for me when it happens. Also, try turning it off under your network settings. HTH. That's strange it still broadcasts after removal.

Uninstall MyWI and reinstall it.

Spirit is notorious for shortening battery life even without mywi

I restored and then re-jailbroken. Got rid of
Myfi. Got the wifi radio to turn off finally! Does that free USB tether app work from cydia?
