I was going to ask if you used a GoPro to shoot the wide angle shots. If so, was it attached to a remote-controlled drone aircraft, such as a Quadcopter?

I've been using a 3D GoPro rig to shoot onride amusement park ride videos, and these cameras work like a charm!

Cool... Those are great cameras to get shots like the ones you posted. The HD video quality is actually quite good when you consider the source (basically a pinhole camera attached to a relatively low bitrate MPEG-4 encoder)...
