need advice on dual tuner DVR

Hi everyone. I`m thinking about buying DVR receiver. My question:

Can I watch live channel with analog audio on my TV set and record separate channel with it`s audio being outputed from toslink? If yes which receiver would you recommend?

I think you misunderstand how they work. The tuners and outputs are independent.

Go to the E* website for receiver specs.

Note that a current rumor indicates the "free" 522 lease offer ends on 4/14 - that means you must be INSTALLED by then or no 522 for you - you'd have to go with the 625 and pay $20 for the punishment - I mean privilege. I don't yet know how solid this is considering there aren't any number of 625's in the field yet, but that's what I hear.

If tuners are independent then I can watch TV2 and record TV1 or vice versa. Makes sense.Thanks.

Not only that, you can record on both, and watch previously recorded stuff on either/both.

Once you get the hang of using a DVR, you'll never watch anything "live" again.
