Need Help setting up Receiver (HR24-200)

I just moved into an apartment and taking one of Parents house. i have an HR24-200 Receiver and looking to hook it up in the apartment. I need all the help i can get.

Are you using a dvr that is on your parents account? If so, that's called account stacking and not allowed by the terms of services, and not discussed here either. If you have a separate account, then by all means ask all the questions you need to!

Is there currently a dish and proper wiring at your apartment? The best thing for you to do is probably call directv and tell them you moved, theyll come out and set you up.
