Need help with HTL-HD....

I just installed the HTL-HD box and I'm having the following problems:

1. I can't remove the off air channels which appear when I change the channels (they do not appear in the direct TV program menu). I went into the Hughes set up menu and hid the off air channels

2. There is no bar menu when I change the channel.

I called DirecTV and they said the box may be bad which I doubt.

The latest software version I have is 1.07.

Any ideas?
