At one time I had Dishnetwork and Voom at home.

After Voom folded I got a DishNetwork HD receiver and added the Voom package.

We got a second home and this weekend I decided to haul the old Voom dish down there along with our Dish 501 (NonHD.) My plan is/was to set up the dish and just move the 501 back and forth with us.

I set up the dish and was able to get 110 west, or 119 west, but not both.

I'm admittedly an untrained newbie in this area. Is this just an aiming issue, or is this being caused because I am using a Voom LNB?

Thanks
John

The Voom LNB will only see one satellite. Either 110, 119, 61.5, 148 etc

The Dish500 uses two LNB's (duals) or a Twin (which is 2 LNB's molded together)

Will I need a switch as well?

From looking at the Dish500 LNBs on EBay, it looks like I'll need a switch as well to combine the outputs from the LNB.

Is that right?

if you get a Twin, you won't need a switch. Its built in

Only thing is the holder for the Voom dish won't support a Twin LNB.

DiSH subs number drop

625 fan vs 522 fan
