Here's my dilemma. I currently have a Dish 1000 (not sure exactly on the name, it gets 110,119,& 129). And I also have a Dish 500 (61.5). But the problem I'm having is with my DPP44 switch. It appears the #4 input port on the switch is defective. I discovered this problem a while back when my locals became available in HD on 61.5. My 61.5 sat was connected to the #4 port at that time but I was not getting my HD locals and when I ran a check switch it was only detecting the first 3 ports (110,119,&129). So I swaped the cables on ports 3 and 4, which moved my 61.5 to the 3rd port and 129 to the 4th port (that does not work). I ran another check switch and sure enough, I could now get 61.5 (locals in HD), but I lost 129.

Which up until this point it has not mattered because except for my locals, all the remaining HD was on both sats. But now I need access to both sats because my HD locals are on 61.5 and the new HD channels are on 129. Now the only option I'm aware of is buying a new DPP44 switch. Which the last time I checked they were outrageously expensive. But I'm wondering if there's another option I'm not aware of? Maybe piggy backing another switch (DP21 or DP33) with the DPP44 switch I currently have. Any suggestions?

If your hd locals are Nashville, you can get them on 129 also.

I had a DPP44 switch that I purchase on Ebay go bad last year. After a call to Dish service, the Dish tech came out, figured out what the problem was and replaced the switch. I did not have to pay anything. Try calling Dish and tell them your not getting your locals in HD. Just a suggestion. Of course I have the service plan.

If you have service plan then DISH will send tech to your house only for $15 and replace DP 44 switch for free. Rite now they send tech next day.

How many receivers are you feeding with that DPP44? If you have a 1000.2 dish, you could add 61.5 to the LNB on the 1000.2 and you could have 4 satellite locations on 3 duo receivers.

For this to work, you will need a 1000.2 dish and a max of 3 receivers. The lnb has 3 eyes in one lnb. The dish 1000 has a DPP Twin and a DP Dual so 3 eyes but 2 lnbs.

I'm only feeding (2) 622 receivers. But I'm not sure which dish I have. I know I get 110, 119, and 129 from it. I think it may be the Dish 1000.

Believe me I don't know what I am talking about, but I thought for some reason you could not have 129 and 61.5 at the same time. Maybe this is the issue, but I don't know.

Well I guess I have a dish 1000. I did what you said I didn't see 1.2K anywhere.

That's too bad. You probably saw DPP Twin and DP Dual in your setup then. A DPP44 switch is needed if you want 61.5. Oh well.

Yes, you can and it works fine. We don't really know what satellite the receiver will choose if you have a channel that is on both (HD channels) but it works fine.
