New Channel Discussions and Impressions

Good addition for movie lovers (mgm). I see a few that have already aired on hdnet movies and voom movie channels. I think I may have to get another hard disk.

...... I think I may have to get another hard disk.
It may be time to get my first one:).

Speaking of which (and I know I could research threads but it's been a long day), did they ever make it so external HDDs can be swapped back & forth between 622s in same household?

I have top 200 +max + Hd ultimate + HD locals.

Will someone give me a list how many New HD channels I will get.

Thank's.

Thanks. So there's no more max 3 move restrictions?
Correct.

I am watching a thread where someone has an ehd plugged in to a 622 in one room and another ehd plugged into a 622 in another room and seems to be getting an error. I think if you use more than one ehd, you need to power up only one at a time but we will see.

So, this is what we are getting;

ABC Family HD
Disney HD East
ESPNews HD
Biography HD
Hallmark Movie Channel HD
Bravo HD
Cartoon HD
MGM HD
Cinemax 5 Star
Sci Fi HD
Cinemax HD West
Smithsonian HD
Comcast Sports Network Bay Area HD
Tennis Channel HD
Toon Disney HD
Comcast Sports Network New England HD
Travel Channel HD
USA HD
CNBC HD
Weather Channel HD
CNN HD
World Fishing Network HD

Of these channels, there are a few that I am unfamiliar with, personally.

MGM being one of them. Is MGM a commercial free, unedited channel? Can anyone tell us about it?

Hallmark? ABC Family? Tennis channel?

IS Weather Channel a SD port in HD? Or is it exclusive content?

What ones of these channels have their own content, if any?

What's worth watching on them?

Hmm dont see Comcast Sport New England in HD yet, Wondering were you got that it was going live/ It would be nice to have for their 10:00 sort show and Celtics next year

I have the top 200 and hd ultimate and now I don't get HDMovies and Universal?

Nevermind, I had to do a check switch and now it shows all the channels

TWC is an SD/HD mix. Content mirrors the SD channel. Some specials in HD. They did not have HD studio, but they may change soon.

Tennis broadcast most live events in HD and they look and sound awesome.

ABCFamily and Hallmark are SD mirrors. Some stretch-o-vision and a little HD.

Smithsonian is an HD only channel. It's content is comparable to VOOM Gallery, Treasure and Equator.
Smithsonian PQ is spectacular.

Since Direct does not have ABC family HD or Hallmark HD yet, fill me in on the content. Do both of these really use stretch-o-vision? Please say no!
