I have just recently subscribed to the Comcast Triple Play package (Enhanced Cable). I have a SD Tivo and a Sony 40" HDTV. When I go to the HD channels they state that I'm not authorized to view them. Comcast is telling me that all I need is a HD box ($12 mon.) or their DVR ($12 mon.) to view those channels in HD.

Can anyone verify this? I love my Tivo, but now viewing SD through it on my HDTV stinks (poor quality). Does their DVR box use a HDMI connection to the TV?

First it would help if we knew what state and city you live in as Comcast does differ in each area of the country. But my first bet is that the auth codes aren't correctly entered into the billing system. So I'd suggest you call Comcast and tell them your getting the not auth message on the HDTV channels. The CSR should be able to fix your issue within a few minutes. Also most likely the DVR will cost more than the normal HD box so I'm not sure about the pricing they gave you.

Either way I think you will need to call no matter the issue.
