I just replaced my old Super Dish after it got trashed in a storm with a Dish 500 which has the newer Dish Pro Plus LNB. My understanding is that each of the two ports carries the 119 and 110 signal on one cable. I have used a DPP separator to Sat 1 and Sat2 on my 322 receiver. I get a lock and a strong signal on 119 but when I try to get a signal on 110 the signal bar turns red and says "wrong satelite 129".

Has anyone seen this before or have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Sounds like you are picking up 119 on the 110 side of the LNB. On the Y yoke it is marked 119 and 110 cover the 110 side with tin foil and see if you lose signal.

Thanks Bob, I'll look again but I don't think the DP Plus is marked for 119 and 110. If I read the instructions correctly either of the two ports on the LNB carry both 119 and 110 signals. Am I confused?

119 should be on Port 1 and 110 on Port 2 via your Check Switch test. That you are receiving 129W means that you are misaligned. The 119 LNB is the one on your left as you stand behind the antenna and the 110 LNB is the rightmost. The antenna is positioned between the 110 and 119 sats and the signal reflects at an angle to the respective LNBs. So foil over the 110 LNB and find 119 with the uncovered LNB. You may have to adjust elevation a smidge if you can't find it. Since you are getting a 129 relection, you may need to adjust the elevation up just a smidge. After finding 119, unfoil the 110 LNB and run another Check Switch. You should have both positions.

I think I get it now. I was thinking of ports as the connectors on the lnb rather than the check switch screen. I'll try the tin foil deal as both you and bob suggested. Sorry for being so dense. Thanks!

No need to do the tinfoil test. If your picking up 129 you're too far to the right and your elevation is a bit too low. Run a checkswitch.. (Menu -6-1-1) and wait until it finishes. It should run through a test 1 of 3 though 3 of 3. More than likely it's going to come back 119 and 129. 110 is to the left. Not for sure, but I'm guessing you need to come up about 2 degrees on your elevation and go back to your left a few degrees. (left to right from Behind the dish)
