New guy and R10 question

Hi. I have been an off and on lurker here for awhile. I haven't had the urge to post much because there are so many that know more than I.

The problem that I am having began a couple of days ago. The video was all black and whit, no matter what channel I was on. I decided to hook up the phone connection to see if that would do anything. I didn't think it would but I was also getting tired of those connection notices.

After doing that it did not fix the problem so I rest the unit (DVR R10). That apparently took care of the problem. This morning it was all black and white again so I reset it again. That fixed it for about 40 minutes but has again transitioned to all black and white.

My question is does anybody have an idea what might be wrong with it?

Are you using the s-video connection? Try reseating the connectors. Also, try using the composite (yellow) connection.

Yea try new input cables or a coax and channel 3, if new cables or a different source doesn't fix it, try a vcr or dvd in the same TV input and play a movie or 2 and see if it persists.
