Alright fellas. I need some help here.

My current setup is 110/119/61.5
I can't have an installer come to my home, for the past 15 years I have been a 'moved' customer to receive Philadelphia locals. I have always done my own installations with help from you folks.

I have a Dish 500 with DP Twin LNB on one side of my house for 110/119.
And on the complete other side I have an 18 inch dish with a DP Single LNB for 61.5.
Both dishes are mounted on the ground and all wiring is under ground.
Everything goes to a central location where I have a DPP44 switch.

I'm not about to dig up 50 feet of my garden to add another wire to receive 110/119/129 on one dish.
BUT, I do have an extra wire on my 61.5 dish.

My question is... What do I need to buy to look at 61.5 and 72.7 with one dish?
Thanks in advance guys!

If you buy a 1000.4 and connect ports 2 (72.7) and 3 (61.5) back to the DPP44 it will override the internal switch built into the LNB

It's also possible to screw a dish 500 to pickup both 72 and 61, search around others have done it.

or, just get a 1002 to replace your 500. remove the switch and 61.5
not sure if you needed 61.5 for locals though.
or...put an additional 500 aimed at 72 with your 61.5 dish. easy enough to mount 2 dishes to one pole.
if you try the 1k4 i would be curious to know if it works.

Yea, I need the 61.5 for Philly locals, that's why I've 'moved'.
It's a pain in the ass, but not once in 15 years have I ever had an installer come to my home. And whenever I need a replacement receiver, I always get them sent to my 'billing' address.

I guess I'm going to replace my 18" dish (61.5) with a 1000.4 (61.5/72.7) unless somebody suggests something different.

I'm currently away at work, and won't return home til 4/7.
I'll decide then order from Dishstore within the next week, so everything will be waiting for me when I return home.

Ya works fine, look at this screep cap from my setup screen. I have the 61.5 port fed into my DPP44

Now that I've started this topic, I feel pretty stupid. I've now found many resources on this topic.
But I do have another (maybe stupid) question.
Looking at your picture... How are you able to look at 5 birds with the DPP44 switch?
When I install this 1000.4 dish, should I also run a wire for 77? Is it possible to hook up: 61.5, 72.7,77,110, and 119 to a DDP44 switch?
If I'm installing, I'd like to prepare for future changes also.

Dish does not "allow" (supposedly) any more hybrid installs. Something about possible future equipment damage. So my 110/119/61.5 can't just add 72.7 & 77. I'll have to go all EA - 61.5, 72.7, 77.

I looked at this old standby to see what was on 77. There's some PPV, shopNBC, QVC, other shopping channels, some movie channels, Fox Soccer, Ovation, SiTV, Planet Green, CSPAN, Earth, NASA, America's Auction Network, C & I, Tennis, music, foreign language, some locals etc etc. If you have & keep 110/119, you'd be missing very little. But who knows what the new year may bring?

For me, giving up 110/119 means I'll definitely need 77. Son watches a lot of movies.

That list isn't relevant anymore. I'm reading that now only certain locals are on 77, as of 3/25/10.

Unless somebody can give me a reason not to, I'm just going to keep my Dish 500 pointed at 119/110. Then swap out my Dish 300 (61.5) for a 1000.4, with only 61.5 and 72.7 hooked up.
119/110/61.5/72.7 should last me a few years. Then I'll be back on here again, with more stupid questions. LOL

5 sats is a pain to do and I'm not good explaining it but here goes! I have a Dish 1000+ and a 1000.4, 110, 119, 129 and 61.5 go into the DPP44. 118 goes into a DP Splitter first, those 2 outputs go into the Sat 2 input on both DP21s (You need a DP21 for each TUNER, and I have a VIP722). Also you need to use 2 outs on the DPP44 as the DP21 is not a pro plus switch (so the DPP Separator will not work). So you need two outs, one into both DP21's Sat 1 input. Then the outs of both DP21's go into your receiver (2 tuners = 2 separate lines ran into your house) I already have cable for my internet, so I just used a Diplexer to piggyback the second line i needed. Here's a ghetto visual example LOL

2 -> DP21 (Sat 1 Input)

Then both outputs to receiver :)

Surprisingly. I understand what you're saying. That's too many wires for my liking.;)

This is what I just went thru. I have one DISH 500 pointed at 110/119 and the other 500 pointed at 61.5/72.7 all connected thru a DPP44.
