I have my H10 working off HDMI, Component, and A/V all at the same time. I used an RF Modulator off the A/V and just ran coax to another room. Could these receivers be so much different? I mean outside of one being a DVR and one not.........Rich

The Hr10-250 will not display a picture on the composite video or s-video outputs if you are watching anything other than 480i. Here is a link to the manual showing this...its on page 32 http://www.directv.com/learn/pdf/System_Manuals/DIRECTV/DIRECTV_HR10-250.pdf

So in other words if your watching a SD signal it will work but not with a HD signal. Again I don't know the technical reasons why this is. I just know that it is...

OK, I see what you saying. I'm guessing that it has to do with copyright issues. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.
