New here... can i please get a little comcast DVR advice?

Hello all, 1st time here and I had a quick question. I currently have the same comcast DVR for the last 4 years ... a Motorola DCT6412. Comcast is trying to talk me into going with their new Xfinity X1 box. It would be just the cost of installation. I've been reading online that the X1 platform is to put it kindly, a "piece of junk". So I'm curious to know....

1. Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with it?
2. Is there a better DVR that comcast has to offer than the one I have now? (It has to have HD, 5.1 and HDMI ... and play nicely with a Harmony 1 remote.)

Call them up and say you want a moto dcm3400, i havnt looked into x1 yet, but the 3400imo is the best dvr they offer
