The current Shield TV shares the same processor as the Nintendo Switch. The Switch is getting a newer processor soon. So the new model Shield TV will probably just get that same new processor, in order to share the economies of scale. Looks like the Shield controller and remote might get updated as well. Looks like this will be the first device to run Android TV 9.0. So far, everything is stuck on 8 or earlier.
