Projetions I saw a few minutes ago showed it going farther west, although the area being affected is still huge.

Channel 363 on D* is running evacuation routes on it.

If your down that way, get out of the way and stay safe :eureka

Ditto. I just finished watching the news, and this is a very scary situation down in the Gulf. My thoughts and prayers go out to everybody thats affected by this. God's speed.

I don't think NO will take a direct hit this time, but a storm that big is going to leave its mark. Let's hope the gov't doesn't pussyfoot around this time and whoever needs help gets it quickly.

I'm watching the last 3 hour trek of the storm on the Weather Channel and it looks like it's moving west, yet the say it's on a bee-line to LA. Are my eyes just playing tricks on me?

If it hits just to the west of NO, and it's a category 3 or 4, they may get more flooding than they did with Katrina.
